… Prom Appropriate? It’s prom season kids! Do you have a date yet? Whether you’re gearing up for the big night, or just want to pretend you’re 16 again, we’ve put together the perfect party outfit. We’re huge fans of peplum-anything, and the dramatic flower-like look of a peplum hem is a surefire way to make a statement on your special night. {Our fave part of this Camilla and Marc number: the subtle magenta piping!} Add some tough metallic luxe accents with a shiny gold collar-cuff necklace by MONA ASSEMI, and layered gold chains from Lindsay Vallan. Round out your look with a magenta lip, pink colorblocked Dannijo cuff, and sleek gold box clutch. Trust us—no one will be calling you Josie Grossie : )

…Almost Famous Threads? It’s week two of Coachella and all of the amateurs have taken their shuttles home. If you’ve still got what it takes, get into the groove with these Almost Famous-inspired threads. We’ve got the remedy if you’re down with the funk: start with a wild zebra print tee, throw on a grungy studded vest, and wow the crowd in this  insane blue sequin jacket by IRO. Complete the boho-chic look with spray-laced chucks and green python sunnies.  Are you feeling almost famous yet? We certainly are. We hope we’ve inspired your camera-worthy outfit, and we’ll see you in the rumble tents!

...Heavy Metal? As many of you already know, we are prone to mixing our heavy metals. Shine like a true style star in these killer gold sequined shorts by Nonoo, a silver collar necklace by New York based designer Mona Assemi, and exclusive gold spray-laced chucks from WGACA. Keep cool in Jonathan Simkhai’s breezy striped racer tank, and complete your ensemble with this season’s summer staple: the baseball jacket. We are loving this casual-chic suede-and-leather option by Jonathan Simkhai.

…Tropical Punch? We think it’s safe to say that concert season is about to kick-off in a major way. With Coachella around the corner, we’ve been gearing up for ferris wheels, overpriced pizza, margarita bars, and insanely warm weather. So let’s pack up our luggage and get rocker-chic ready!

Work your festival-ready look with punchy prints and a cherry lush lip. A pineapple print collar is playful and fun while leather shorts add the perfect dose of edge. Take your outfit to the next level with the IRO Clay tee — ripped in all the right places. Style Tip: round out the look with beach-y waves and a psychedelic headpiece worn across your forehead like a true hippie. And we know that no concert outfit is complete until you’re dripping in swag—make your look the main attraction with a thin wrap necklace, an assortment of cuffs and bangles, and you’re ready to rock.

…Holiday Hits? As many of you style stars know, the holiday season can be super hectic. Your schedule is full of holiday parties, shopping dates, and good old fashioned fun. We know what you’re thinking: “What am I going to wear?” Fear not—we’ve got you covered on this frigid Tuesday evening. Today’s style star is sporting IRO’s sequin Cloe dress. This little gem is holiday appropriate because of the shimmery sequins, and the plunging back is oh-so-sexy!  We paired the dress with the super edgy Marissa jacket by Nonoo and accessorized with a sparkl-y scarf and glove set by Missoni. For those of you that can’t bear the wintery weather, we’ve included a fur funnel by Glamourpuss which can be worn around your neck, hands or head. We’ve also included a jeweled Deepa Gurnani headband, a few stackable bracelets by Roarke NY, and some killer Christian kicks (sold at Saks) Style Tip: Don’t be afraid to wrap your headband around your wrist to complete your arm partay and match your accessories with your makeup (we included a make-up option for those of you looking to get festive).  Peridot nail polish by Chanel, Schiap by Nars, and Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadow really creates a dramatic look for just about anyone. …Craft-y Clothes? We had been contemplating confiscating this vintage flannel number from the store for quite some time and when we came across this awesome jeweled button down DIY via Honestly…wtf, we knew what had to be done.  After gathering all of our supplies and poking ourselves repeatedly with the needle we were ready to get craft-y!  At first, we only wanted to jewel the placket, but then decided to bling out the cool cuffs as well.  DIY Tip: don’t be afraid to take your creativity to the next level when working on a new project.  We urge everyone to check out www.honestlywtf.com and get inspired this weekend…

…Winter Wares? OK class, today’s lesson is on transitional outerwear.  Structured outerwear can make or break your ensemble, so it is always important to incorporate the simplest of staples into one’s wardrobe.  For example, the Cosima coat by Nonoo is oh-so-chic and classic. We love the cozy shearling collar, cashmere cotton blend, and skirted hem and this silhouette is perfect for a frigid winter-y day.  Also, for those of you who want to stay on-trend with rad plaids, we recommend this gorgeous black and white number from Anna Sui’s F/W 2011 collection.  Today’s style star is sporting a feminine chic white Cassis dress by Alice Temperley, super soft black cashmere stirrup pants by Kova&T, and the Cosima coat by NYC designer Misha Nonoo. Style Tip: lace overlays are so beautiful when paired back to leggings, so you really don’t need a slip. Grab a sexy bra and layer your French lace dress over your stirrup pants for a Parisian inspired look…class dismissed. (styled by The Man Repeller)

…Foxy Fur?  Ladies, have you picked out your flirty fall look of the week?  The sun is starting to set earlier and we can feel the brisk wind whip by.  Soon fall will be over and we will be transitioning into our winter wardrobe.  May we recommend busting out your best mini dress, mini skirt or flare pants?  Try to layer up with a foxy fur of your choice and stay warm.  Take your business-chic look from day-to-night with accent pieces like this fur vest by Misha Nonoo, a personal favorite.  Stay on-trend with tons of accessories and new kicks (preferably booties).  Today’s style star is sporting an  amazing embellished mini dress by Anna Sui, an oversized fur vest by Nonoo, and the Newbury bootie by Rag and Bone. Style Tip: When selecting your new (faux) fur for the season, select a color that suits your wardrobe. Always invest in something you want to keep forever, especially when it comes to statement pieces.

….shopping your closet for costumes?  Happy Monday!  Halloween is just one week away while we want to get involved in a major way, we hate spending dough on meaningless costumes and always enjoy looking chic.  So we partnered with one of our favorite DC bloggers Alina Gonzalez (from NBC’s The Feast and creator of the quirky fashion diary The Hyperbalist) to shop our own closets.  On a beautiful fall day we raided the showroom and got super creative with a vast variety of colorful threads. Think of this little lesson as a DIY—ask yourself, what do I want to be for Halloween?  How about a cute little kitty cat or a psychedelic flower child from the 60s?  With a little imagination, the possibilities are endless—peep our selections for a little inspiration and get crafty in your closet on this fine fall day…psst: score $300 bones in this I DIE FOR DIY costume contest via Chictopia.
